             =   3 1/2 

                 

B) How many hours is the time in Victoria behind the time in Mumbai?

     -8 +5 1/2

     -8 +5 = 13 1/2

C) Determine and interpret the time difference between Tokyo and Kathmandu.

     +5 3/4 - (+9)=

                         =3 1/4

Tokyo is 3 1/4 ahead of Kathmandu.

D) Determine and interpret the time difference between Chatham Islands and St. John's.

     +12 3/4 +3 1/2=

     +12 +3= 15

     3/4 + 1/2= 1 1/4

     15 + 1 1/4= 16 1/4

Chatham Islands are 16 1/4 h ahead of Kathmandu, Nepal. 

E) In which location is the time exactly halfway between the times in Istanbul and Alice Spring?

     +9 1/2 +2= 11 1/2

     11/2= 5 1/2

     1/2 + 1/4=

     2=2, 4

     4=4

     1/4 + 1/4= 2/4 

     2/4 + 1/4= 3/4

        5 + 3/4= 5 3/4
